Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today lashed out at the Congress leaders saying he would resign as chief minister if TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy proved his comment that previous Congress government had already made agreement with Maharashtra to construct a reservoir on Tummidihatti at 152 mt height.
On his return from Maharashtra at Begumpet Airport here this morning, KCR said he would take ‘political sanyas’ if they have guts to prove their arguments that they signed an agreement on Tummidihatti project with documental evidence. “If that is true, Uttam and Jana Reddy should come to Begumpet to prove the same and I will go straightaway to Raj Bhavan to put in my papers”, KCR said. He also warned that the Congress leaders will face jail terms if they failed to prove the allegations.
KCR fumed at the Congress for claiming that 98 lakh acres were irrigated during their regime. Where has the water gone? Did birds drink it? If so, why this perennial water problem in Telangana?, he thundered. The Congress was getting nervous at the completion of the projects and aspirations of the people are being fulfilled by the TRS Government. Telangana was destroyed by the Congress men by supporting AP chief ministers before bifurcation, he said, adding that they are vying for belittling our efforts to develop the State.
“In a few days, I will disclose the misdeeds of the Congress leaders through a TV channel”, he warned. KCR also took a dig at the previous Congress and the TDP governments for making Telangana a desert by depriving it of irrigation projects. “Our efforts fructified with Maharashtra cooperation to complete the projects”, he said.
Harish to meet PM for surplus waters
“We will exert pressure on the Centre for the rightful share of waters and a delegation led by T Harish Rao will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clear the same. We will get our rightful share of waters from 1500 tmc to Telangana”, he said. “Despite ruckus and hurdles by the Opposition, we will cleanse the feet of the farmers by completing Kaleshwaram project”, KCR vowed.
