Property dealer shot dead in Kota

Kota: A 48-year-old property dealer was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Kota railway station in Bhimganj Mandi area here, police said today.

The incident took place last evening when Durgesh Malviya was sitting along with his friends near Kota railway station, said Ramkhiladi Meena, Circle In charge (CI) at Bhimganj Mandi police station.

Some unidentified men shot Malviya from behind, Meena said, adding he collapsed on the spot while profusely bleeding from his head.

He was immediately rushed to Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have lodged a case of murder under section 302 of IPC against the unidentified assailants, the CI said adding the motive behind the murder is not yet clear.

However, he said, since the deceased was associated with property business, some property related dispute was likely to be the reason behind the incident.

Investigation in the case in underway with efforts on to nab the accused, he said.

The dead body was handed over to the family members after postmortem in the noon, said the officer.
