Vienna, May 21: A professor at the University of Graz in Austria has been sentenced to four months in jail and fined 8,000 euros (over $11,000) for downloading thousands of indecent images of children, Xinhua reported.
The case came to light after a thief broke into the professor’s apartment and tried to blackmail him after finding pornographic images of children stored on a computer.
The professor reported the blackmail to authorities.
Prosecutors alleged the professor not only downloaded and saved thousands of photos but also engaged in making pornographic photos of children.
