New Delhi, September 05: It will be another ‘thrill ride’ for television viewers from tomorrow with the third edition of the adventure reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ scheduled to air on Colors from tomorrow.
This time round, however, the roles will be reversed with the glamorous Priyanka Chopra taking the place of ‘hunk’ Akshay Kumar as the host of the popular show while the 13 glam girls of the previous seasons will be replaced by 13 handsome dudes from the world of television and films.
It will be a triple-treat of thrills and excitement as 13 celebrity Khiladis including choreographer and TV personality, Terence Lewis; model and actor, Milind Soman; car racer, Armaan Ebrahim; ‘Rock On’ Director Abhishek Kapoor; actor and model, Dino Morea; actor, Manjot Singh of ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’ and ‘Udaan’ fame; actor and national level rugby player, Rahul Bose; model and actor,Rahul Dev; VJ, actor, comedian and author Cyrus Broacha; TV actor, Shabbir Ahluwalia; squash champ, Ritwik Bhattacharya; TV actor, Karan Singh and actor, model, cricketer and commentator, Angad Bedi perform stunts that are three times more challenging and dangerous than previous editions of the show.
Like its previous editions, ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi x 3’, to be aired from Monday-Thursday at 9 pm, will take viewers on a roller coaster ride of extreme stunts, galloping emotions and never seen before action. The diva host, Priyanka has plans to test all thirteen – strong, masculine, debonair, macho and fearless participants as they embark on an exciting journey to the new Fear Factor destination – Brazil.
Sources in Colors say that as the captain of the team, Priyanka will be a friend when they need one and a motivator when they are feeling low; but at the same time she will be a complete ‘mastikhor’ and have fun at their expense.
Speaking about Priyanka’s role as host of the show, which was hosted by macho Akshay Kumar in the previous two seasons, the programming head of Colors, Ashwini Yardi said,’’Priyanka will be seen having a lot of fun at the contestants’ expense as she will be a total mastikhor; she will be completely unpredictable and will pose more challenges for the participating men.
At the same time, she will be the sole support they will have on the show. Bringing more thrills to the show, she will be performing some daredevil stunts by herself. In short, she will ensure that the viewers have fun as the khatra will be three times higher than the danger level this season.”
Speaking about her participation in the show, Priyanka says,’’this season, we’re raising all thresholds of endurance, pain and will…where fear is of no consequence! Brazil is my playground and Meu Macho Amigos will be on my turf, living by my rules, playing my game! I know many of these boys, some of them are friends, but as far as I’m concerned, in the ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi x 3’ challenge, nothing else matters but their will to win. I also promise to give viewers a daily dose of action, adrenaline and a whole lot of fun.”
The actress is quite excited about hosting the third season of what has been one of the most popular reality shows on television in the last few years.
Writing in her recent tweets, Priyanka said,”Shooting for the show. It’s sooo hectic! Television is a completely new medium..but I’m a quick learner!”
Priyanka’s favourite part of the reality show is the elimination of contestants.
”Eliminations are the most surprising! It’s awesome,” she says. About the experience of working with the men from the world of glamour, she said,”the boys behave like they are at war..and it’s so much fun to handle them! I’m dying to seewho will get the title of Khatron Ke Khiladi.”
‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi x 3’ has been produced once again by format owners, Endemol India, the producers of hugely successful format-based shows in more than 25 countries.
Speaking about the format of the show, Deepak Dhar, Managing Director, Endemol India said’’ for a show that has already shattered all preconceived notions of fear and has turned celebrities into daredevils, this season had to be something that took the viewers’ experience to the next level.

‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’ debuted in July 2008 as one of the first shows on the then newly launched channel COLORS. After tasting early success, the show soon built a strong following of regular adventure fanatics who enjoyed the extreme stunts featured on the show.
The show’s biggest strength apart form the celeb factor was the fact that all the stunts featured on the show were real which made it precariously exciting.
