Lucknow, September 26: Taking note of reports of private polytechnics overcharging from students, Uttar Pradesh government has warned that stern action will be taken against such institutions.
In a letter sent to divisional commissioners and district magistrates, principal secretary, technical education, Vrinda Swaroop said the government had fixed Rs 14,500 annual fee per student in polytechnics.
However, there have been complaints that some private institutes were charging as much as Rs 40,000 from students.
“Charging exorbitant fees is illegal and action will be taken against institutes indulging in such activities,” she said.
