Prime minister to visit Hyderabad in October

Hyderabad, September 18: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Hyderabad on October 19 to take part in a couple of programmes.

He will lay the foundation-stone for the prestigious Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) campus at Gachibowli here, sources in Chief Minister’s Office said today.

“As per the tentative schedule confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office, Singh will arrive in Hyderabad for a day-long visit. Besides the TIFR programme, he may take part in another programme at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology here. The state government is trying to programme the launch of Aadhar (unique identity card) project as well,” a senior official in the CMO said.

Though the Prime Minister was expected to launch the Aadhar project during his trip to Tirupati on August 31, but it had to be put off due to paucity of time, the official said.
