‘Poor bowling responsible for India’s CT debacle’

Jalandhar, October 05: Poor bowling and bad luck were the reasons why India crashed out early from the Champions Trophy, feels team manager Anurag Thakur.

“Indian bowlers did not bowl up to their potential and ultimately we lost to Pakistan,” Thakur, who is also a BJP MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, told reporters.

“Overall the Indian team performed well, which is evident from the win against West Indies, but defeat against Pakistan ultimately proved costly and we found ourselves out of the tournament,” Thakur said.

Asked about the injury to Sachin Tendulkar after a bout of food poisoning, Thakur recalled, “Sachin along with some other teammates had their food together, but Sachin had food poisoning and was possibly dehydrated.”

“He was feeling weak and that was the reason why he felt giddy and hurt himself in the hotel room.
