Pondy CM flies to Delhi on urgent call

Puducherry, August 19: Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam today left for Delhi after being summoned by the party high command, official sources said.

His sudden visit to Delhi bears much significance in view of the decision Congress has to take as to whether it should field its candidate in the Rajya Sabha poll or to leave it to any of its allies.

Puducherry has a lone seat in the Upper House and the poll is due in October this year.

Vaithlingam would also attend the Congress Working Committee meeting, the sources said.
