Pollard, Roach and Bond top draws in first round IPL auction

Mumbai, January 19: Keiran Pollard and Shane Bond hit the maximum as the first and second round action of the IPL auction ended at the Trident hotel in Mumbai.

West Indies all-rounder Keiran Pollard was the hottest of them all with the bid going all the way down to the wire with Mumbai Indians finally beating Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers and Kolkata Knightriders. Mumbai Indians bit more in the Rupees in the tie-breaker against the rest.

Shane Bond the kiwi fast bowler’s bid also went into a tie-breaker before Kolkata Knightriders edged past Deccann Chargers in the Rupees section.

West Indies Kemar Roach and South African Wayne Parnell also hit the jackpot going for $720,000 and $610000 to Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils.

Bangalore Royal Challengers pick up Eoin Morgan for $220,000.

Shahid Afridi, Brad Haddin, Mohammad Kaif and Graeme Swann went unsold.
