Political instability major concern of small states: Khanduri

Dehradun, December 13: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Major-General B C Khanduri has said from the administrative point of view, small states might be a success story, but political instability would be the major hurdle in their development.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Khanduri said in small states, the government can establish its hold over the administration which in turn ensures a steady growth of the state. But the biggest challenge faced by small states would be that of political instability.

He advocated stringent laws to thwart this instability. He further said the anti-defection law should be made more effective and stringent.
