Ghaziabad, May 21: Police closed a case of rape against a youth after he married the alleged victim here, officials said.
On May 17, the mother of the victim lodged an FIR against the man, in his late twenties, alleging that he had raped her 18-year-old daughter a day before, SP M M Beg said.
She alleged that the man, who was the younger brother of her son-in-law, had come to her residence at Garhmukteshwar, 80 km from here, and raped her daughter who was alone at that time, he said.
A medical examination was done on the girl which confirmed rape, following which the accused married the victim yesterday in presence of panchayat and family members, the SP said.
