Guntur, June 25: Police have arrested four members of Janasekthi group naxalites and recovered two rifles and a revolver from their possession, at Kesanapalli village in Dachepalli mandal of the district.
Superintendent of Police S Ravichandra told reporters yesterday that on a tip-off, the police have arrested the four naxalites, belonging to Janasekthi group.
They were involved in several offences, including murder of a forest guard and a villager in the district.
During interrogation, the arrested naxals told police that they were hatching a plot to kill a former maoist Shankar. The SP said that they were extorting money from landlords, contractors and traders.
