Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday thanked India for the rescue and relief work conducted in earthquake-hit Nepal, including help provided to his nation’s citizens.
In his telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Netanyahu also condoled the deaths caused by the earthquake in India.
Prime Minister Modi tweeted to share details of their conversation.
“I spoke to PM @netanyahu, who had called to extend condolences on the loss of lives due to the Earthquake,” he wrote.
“My gratitude to PM @netanyahu for his kind words on India ‘s relief and rescue efforts in Nepal including help extended to Israeli nationals,” he added.
Saturday’s earthquake, which measured 7.9 on the Richter scale, resulted in the deaths of over 5,500 people and was one of the worst calamities suffered by Nepal in over 80 years. (ANI)
