New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe here on Tuesday for delegation level talks.
The two neighbors are expected to sign MoUs in various fields as well.
Wickremesinghe will call on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Wednesday and hold talks.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrema, who is accompanying Wickremesinghe, said that the focus of the visit will be more than just negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement which covers only trade and services.
He added that, Sri Lanka is keen to have stronger ties with India on areas such as investment, technology, education, agriculture, industrial development and culture.
Wickremesinghe arrived here on Monday on a three day bilateral visit. This is his first official international visit after assuming the Prime Minister’s office last month. (ANI)
