PM Modi arrives in California

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here today for the penultimate leg of his two-nation tour during which he will interact with the Indian community.
There were loud cheers and chants of ‘Modi Modi’ outside the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport here as people gathered in large numbers to welcome the Prime Minister.

“He not only has the vision but the ability to execute it, which is very important. Creating a shared vision which unites all Indians and motivates them to move forward towards development is very important. Today I am here because I love his work,” said Parag Shah, who works for Proofpoint.

The Prime Minister will address the Indian community in the famous SAP Centre which is expected to be attended by around 20,000 people.

The event would be hosted by stand-up comedian Rajiv Satyal along with popular actress Ashwini Bhave and Emmy award winner and the weeknight news anchor for NBC Bay Area Raj Mathai.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet top technology honchos later in the day. He will visit Tesla Motors and meet top officials of IT companies, including Tim Cook of Apple Inc., Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai of Google Alphabet and Adobe head Shantanu Narayen.

The Prime Minister will also deliver an address at the Digital India and Digital Technology dinner.

Prime Minister earlier today made a strong pitch for reforms of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) before leaving for California. (ANI)
