New Delhi, June 28: The Congress has clarified its stand on the statement of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram regarding Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s scanty interaction with media.
The party said the Minister has said everything in simple words and Congress need not to clarify anything.
However, the party also clarified that the Prime Minister doesn’t need any advice from anyone to say whatever he wants to.
Mr Chidambaram had said in an interview that the Prime Minister should talk more often on important issues.
“Every person has its own style”, Mr Chidambaram had said adding that on issues like Lokpal, people want to know what the top leader has to say.
When asked that about the party’s view on the minister’s statement, Congress spokeperson Manish Tiwari said the minister had expressed his views very clearly which doesn’t need further clarification.
Being a political leader, he has every right to express his views, Mr Tiwari said.
When asked further on the statement, Mr Tiwari said it would not be proper to comment on the issue adding that the Prime Minister is an experienced, wise and outspoken leader who knows what to speak and when.
