Jodhpur, April 19: One more person was arrested today by the special investigation team in connection with the alleged land scam in which thousands of bigha of land was sold to three companies without the consent of the owners.
The team, constituted by the Jodhpur rural police four days ago, camped in Phalodi and gathered all the details regarding the alleged land deals.
“Based on the information collected by this team, we arrested Arjun Ram Meghwal – a resident of Enka village of Phalodi – and seized Rs 7 lakh from him, which he admitted to have earned from these illegal land deals,” SP (Rural) G L Sharma said that
“He admitted to have sold land illegally and we have extracted important information about this racket from him,” Sharma said.
Meghwal was the fifth arrest in this alleged land scam. Four persons were arrested by the city police about a week back from different places.
