Visakhapatnam, September 02: People and their movements are looking up to small media in the state, Telugu daily ‘Andhra Jyothi’ editor K Srinivas said here.
Speaking at a press meet yesterday organised by Vizag Journalists forum(VJF), he said, ”during the colonial era media played a pivotal role in the national movement.” He said undeniably the media was also a ‘business’ and it had its own limitations.
In the era of globalisation people were hopeful in the local papers and blogs than the mainstream big media, he reiterated.
He also pointed that complexities were present in every sphere of society but a committed journalist should give a clear view to its readers.
He also threw light on apolitical reporting of events by the media houses and said the coverage of political events definitely reflect afflictions of media houses.
Reacting to a query he said the feature journalism was catering to the needs of the times and had changed according to the contemporary impending needs.
Answering to a query about TDP President N Chandra Babu Naidu’s ‘Babli’ campaign’s coverage he said each media house reacted as per its background.
