People took to the streets this morning protesting against the death of Mushtaq Ahmad allegedly in security force firing at village Kalampora Rajpora in Pulwama.
They alleged that security forces killed the youth after militants had escaped from the area.
Official sources said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint operation in the village last night following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
They said there was an encounter between militants and security forces in the area.
However, militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
This was the second time that militants gave the slip to security forces in south Kashmir during the past 24 hours.
