PD Act invoked against gangster Ayub Khan

Hyderabad: Commissioner of police Hyderabad Mr. Mahender Reddy has issued orders invoking Preventive Detention Act (PD Act) against notorious rowdy sheeter and gangster Ayub Khan. South zone police on Wednesday evening served the orders to the gangster, who is “Qaidi No 574” at Chanchalguda central prison.

Ayub khan was arrested in December at Mumbai International airport. Later Kamati Pura police took him into 1-week police custody for interrogation in fake passport case. Cases were booked against Ayub Khan in Golconda, Abids, Bhavani Nagar and Husaini Alam police stations.

Ayub Khan was booked in 68 criminal cases of which he was acquitted in 56 cases due to lack of witnesses, while he was convicted in two cases. Two cases are still pending. 8 cases are under investigation on the basis of which Hyderabad police decided to invoke PD Act against him.

It must be recalled that fearing that cops might invoke a PD Act against him in 2014, Khan had fled from India on a fake passport.
