PCC chief for Tirupati today

Hyderabad, August 29: The State Congress Committee is making elaborate arrangements for the Tirupati public meeting to be addressed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on September 6.

PCC president D Srinivas will leave for Tirupati to hold a meeting with party leaders from Chittoor, Nellore and Kadapa districts at 3 pm Saturday (August 29) to review arrangements for the proposed public meeting. District and city Congress Committee presidents, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other party functionaries concerned are invited to the meeting chaired by the PCC chief.

It is learnt that Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, his close aide and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao and the APCC president have already reviewed the arrangements (to be made for PM’s visit) at Gandhi Bhavan yesterday.

Manmohan Singh who arrives on September 5 evening, will first visit Tirumala to have darshan of Lord Balaji.

On the following day, he will attend various Government programmes. He will then attend the public meeting at about 11 am.
