Pakistan is proud of ISI, says Bashir

Islamabad, May 05: Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir said Thursday that Pakistan was proud of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

“We are proud of the work of ISI. It is an important arm of the government, which has contributed enormously to the anti-terror campaign,” Bashir told a news conference.

Bashir’s comments followed growing Western allegations that Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden had covert ISI backing when he lived in Pakistan, until his killing by the US in Abbottabad Monday.
