Pakistan likely to release mortal remains of Gujarat fisherman

Islamabad: Pakistan is likely to release the mortal remains of Indian fisherman Deva Ram Baraiya on Wednesday.

Deva, who hailed from Gujarat, died inside a jail in Pakistan three months ago.

The 65-year-old was arrested in February this year, by Pakistani Maritime Security Authorities, along with four others when he was out fishing on a boat.

Deva and the others along with him were reportedly sent to Malir jail in Karachi, where he died on April 4.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, and a daughter.
