Islamabad: Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain, who is on a visit to China, held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Saturday, where they discussed Pakistan-China bilateral relations and regional, global issues of mutual interest.
Hussain was invited by Xi to participate in the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State meeting.
As per Geo News, the Chinese President said that Pakistan would continue to remain a priority for China.
Hussain congratulated Xi on hosting the SCO summit and supported the Chinese chairmanship for the same while the latter appreciated Pakistan for its proactive participation in SCO.
The two leaders also agreed to contribute towards economic development of Pakistan and to explore ways to improve the balance of bilateral trade.
The two-day SCO summit kicked off on Saturday. It is being attended by India, Pakistan, Russia, Iran among other allies. (ANI)
