Jaipur: At the centre of a political storm over her alleged help to Lalit Modi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today said she was “pained by the negative” role played by media which gave an impression that all was “going astray” and the government was corrupt.
“We politicians also feel pain when negative journalism takes front seat. I believe that giving an impression that all is going astray and the government is corrupt will never help in nation building,” she said.
Referring to the media reports about her alleged assistance to embattled former IPL chief Lalit Modi, Raje said,”We fail to understand how a word here and a word there is added to design a story to bash a politician.”
“It hurts when media tries to thrust what they wish upon us and cover the truth,” the chief minister said.
Raje was addressing a gathering of war widows on the second anniversary of a local media channel here.
Citing example of Japan, Raje said,”The front and last pages in print are known as hope pages and prime time on news channels are fixed for constructive news, this makes citizens feel that nation is building.
