Hyderabad, November 09: Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Wednesday stated that the Telangana state formation would be materialized with consistent agitations and through mounting pressure on the United Progressive Alliance Government.
Talking to media persons at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, after former Congress minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy withdrew his nine-day hunger fast that he undertook for the cause of Telangana state, Kodandaram said that Congress in-charge of state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad made the statement that decision on Telangana would be taken after November 10 following the pressure mounted by general strike of Telangana employees and the hunger fast of Komatireddy.
“The general strike launched by employees has increased pressure on the UPA Government,” Kodandaram said while demanding that at least now the government should make a clear statement over the formation Telangana state. He said the Telangana leaders have to continue their agitation until the Centre announces separate Telangana state.
Kodandaram said that the TPJAC would announce its strategy to be adopted during the ensuing Assembly and Parliament sessions. He said that the JAC leaders would mount pressure on Delhi leaders during the winter session of Parliament and Assembly.
The TP-JAC chairman slammed the Telangana Ministers for not enquiring about health condition of Komatireddy during fast. “How can we believe that Telangana Ministers would bring Telangana state, who failed to turn up for Deeksha of their former Cabinet colleague Komatireddy?” he asked. Even Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy did not enquire about Komatireddy’s health and asked him to call off deeksha over phone, he pointed out. “This indicates how much discrimination the Seemandhra leaders are showing on Telangana leaders over their agitation,” he stated.
TNGOs president V Srinivas Goud and other JAC leaders were also present. (INN)
