Job Description
May liaise with inVentiv Health Clinical study team members to determine clients coding requirements.
Perform medical coding of data collected within a clinical study, using specified coding dictionaries.
Raise queries for terms that require further action to enable coding as per project coding conventions.
Review manually coded data for accuracy.
Review auto-encoded data in coding listing format at regular intervals to ensure accurate, consistent and clinically relevant coding decisions.
Perform intermittent reviews of coder issued queries to ensure relevance, usage of proper terminology.
May participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) or other validation activities for study start-up.
Participate in Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation activities.
Maintain study-specific medical coding conventions.
Liaise with others regarding coding issues and to resolve queries to enable coding.
May provide basic dictionary training to data management or medical monitor personnel.
May assess changes due to dictionary version updates, and update the coding accordingly.
Participate in medical coding process and documentation improvement discussions.
Provide quality feedback and metrics as necessary

Desired Profile:
Bachelors Degree, RN, RPH, Pharm.D
5+ consecutive years in a dedicated medical coding role
Thorough understanding of the MedDRA and WHO Drug dictionary structures, content and historical changes
Proficient with the WHO Drug Dictionary ATC system and code assignment
Knowledgeable about the MedDRA and WHO Drug Dictionary publications, supporting documentation
Proficient with at least 2 unique coding applications (i.e. OC TMS, Oracle InForm/Central Coding, Rave EDC, Medidata Coder, etc.)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Proficient with use of the English language and medical terminology
Experience with management of multiple projects, concurrently
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, with an ability to inform, influence, convince, and persuade
Education:UG -Any Graduate – Any Specialization, Graduation Not Required
PG – Any Postgraduate, Post Graduation Not Required
Doctorate – Any Doctorate – Any Specialization, Doctorate Not Required
