OPEC oil price slides to 81.52 dollars

Vienna, April 14: The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said Wednesday that its basket price dipped to 81.52 dollars a day earlier, falling in step with global oil markets.

A barrel (159 litres) of OPEC was down 0.68 dollars on Tuesday, following the trend of the benchmark brands West Texas Intermediate and North Sea Brent.

On the previous two days of trading, the OPEC price had defied the downward trend of the two main brands.

OPEC’s 12 member countries pump over a third of global oil supplies.
