Guntur, September 25: A second year nursing student was found hanging in her hostel bathroom at Morrispet, Tenali mandal in Guntur district on Saturday.
According to Inspector Srinivas Rao, victim Nalinidevi (23), daughter of Jaya Rao was a resident of Giddalur in Prakasam district.
Nalinidevi was studying BSC 2nd year (nursing) in Jeevan Jyothy Nursing College at Tenali in Guntur district. She was an inmate of the college hostel for her studies. According to Nalinidevi’s classmates, she was not seen since Friday morning.
They opened the bathroom door on Saturday morning after foul smell started emanating from it. Nalinidevi had taken the extreme step with the help of her dupatta.
The horrified students immediately alerted the hostel management, who in turn informed the police.
Mr Srinivas Rao told INN that a suicide note was also found in Nalinidevi’s room.
He said that Nalinidevi had written in the note that no one should be held responsible for her death and that she was taking her live after being dejected by not fulfilling her parents’ expectations and not studying well. She also mentioned in her suicide note that she hoped to be born as Dr Nalinidevi in her next birth.
Police registered a case and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. -INN
