NSW eyes big-hitting Kieron Pollard for Big Bash

Melbourne, October 25: All-rounder Kieron Pollard’s attacking brand of cricket in Champions League T20 has impressed Australian side New South Wales, who are planning to rope in the West Indian for their domestic Twenty20 event Big Bash.

Confirming the move, Cricket NSW Chief Executive Dave Gilbert said they would approach the 22-year-old Trinidad & Tobago player, who blasted an 18-ball 54 against them in a group match of the Champions League Twenty20 in India.

“Well we’ve had some good chats to him, and he’s keen.

I’m sure there’s a lot of other states who’ll want him as well. We’ll see what happens, but fingers crossed,” Gilbert was quoted as saying by ‘Sydney Morning Herald’.

Pollard scored 25, which included three huge sixes, in the CL T20 final which NSW won.

NSW skipper Simon Katich was also hopeful about signing Pollard next year.
