Mumbai, January 20: The Maharashtra cabinet has decided not to give any further registration to migrants for taxis as the numbers have already been surged. The decision has come out to curb it on the roads as more than four thousand applications have been filed to obtain new by the taxi drivers.
To get a new license the migrant taxi diver has to put in prove of his stay of 15 years in the city or state as this new regulation will not make any impact on those who already have the registration. This decision has been seen as politically awaken as the migrants were targeted by the political parties like Shiv Sena and MNS.
Chief Minister Ashok Chavan asserted before media that we need taxi drivers who can easily understand Marathi as well as in speaking too.
