GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy today said adequate funds were being released for construction of toilets in community halls and individual houses for keeping the city clean and green.
“The GHMC was giving priority for sanitation and it has targeted to construct at least 12,000 toilets individually during the current financial year. Each toilet’s cost as a unit would be Rs 12,000. Of this, the GHMC would bear Rs 8,000 and the Centre would give Rs 4000 as its share”, he added.
The Commissioner also stated that first priority would be given to construct community toilets. There was no toilet facility in most of the slum areas and it was decided to construct toilets in these slum areas first, he added. (NSS)
