Nitish steps up measures to check corruption

Patna, February 12: Stepping up measures to tighten the noose around corrupt public servants in Bihar, the state government has sought public opinion about the functioning of government offices and problems faced by the people in gathering information.

The anti-corruption wing of the state vigilance department on its website has displayed a format to be filled by the people which asks for replies to certain questions like response of the babus, their behaviour and cooperation.

“The format also seeks whether the working style of the babus has changed during the present dispensation and if the officials have demanded bribe for bestowing a favour,” a state vigilance department official said.

“The government is contemplating taking stringent measures to wipe out corruption on the basis of feedbacks received from the people,” he said.
