Chennai: Car companies Nissan Motor India and Ford India on Wednesday said they closed last month’s sales book with higher sales.
In a statement, Nissan Motor India said it sold 4,807 units in the domestic market last month against 3,850 units sold the same month a year ago.
“Our strong sales performance in February maintains the Nissan Group’s position as the second-fastest growing car brand in India so far this fiscal year,” Managing Director Arun Malhotra was quoted as saying.
On its part, Ford India said it sold a total of 24,026 units last month up from 17,306 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
“The industry is seeing some green shoots, recovering from the impact of demonetisation. Ford continues to grow faster than the industry, which bears testimony to our three-pronged strategy of product led transformation, busting the myth of cost of service and enhancing dealership experience,” Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford India was quoted as saying in the statement.
