Hyderabad, September 23: Telangana Political JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram warned of violence if the Centre and State Government fails to take a favourable decision on statehood for Telangana.
Addressing a rally organised by JAC of Telangana Employees Teachers, Gazetted Officers and Workers at Gruha Kalpa here on Friday, Prof Kodandaram said that the government should be thankful that the Telangana agitation has been peaceful, so far. However, he warned, that if Telangana activists resort to violence then no one from the Seemandhra region would be allowed to stay in the region.
Prof Kodandaram accused the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for misleading the Centre on Telangana agitation. He said the on-going agitation should be taken lightly and it might lead to serious consequences if the Centre ignores the peaceful protests by the Telangana activists. However, he clarified that the agitation was not against the people hailing from Seemandhra region and it was only for seeking statehood for Telangana.
Suspended TDP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy accused the Congress party of delaying the process of formation of Telangana. He asked the Congress leaders to take the right decision and support the statehood cause. He said the present awareness and participation of Telangana people was an opportunity to achieve Telangana State and this must not be lost.
Employees JAC chairman Swamy Goud refuted media reports that he was having a secret deal with the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said such baseless reports were being floated to create differences among Telangana leaders who have successfully launched a united movement for the statehood. (INN)
