Hyderabad, February 25: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy inaugurated a new computer centre for legislators in the Andhra Pradesh Legislature Library today.
The computer centres has digitised records of Assembly proceedings since 1956.
Video recordings of the Assembly proceedings from 1996 are also available, according to Legislature Secretary S Raja Sadaram.
AP Legislature becomes the first in the country after Parliament to have such facility, developed by the Information Technology and Communications Department of the state government.
All members of AP Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly can access the facilities in the new centre.
Training has been provided to legislators in computer usage and all of them are now being given laptops in the ongoing Budget session.
Council Chairman A Chakrapani, Assembly Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar, several ministers, legislators and officials attended the function.
