New colour pattern for police station

Hyderabad, December 31: A new police station with a different colour pattern will come up in the city. “It will look like a corporate office. A khakiclad policeman may be intimidating.

We thought a colourful ambience will make the complainant feel at ease,” DGP V Dinesh Reddy has said. Speaking at the annual press meet here on Friday, he said there is a proposal to merge Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates.

Dinesh Reddy said the law and order situation has been satisfactory and the police dealt Telangana related agitations with minimum use of force.
He said the number of accidents have also come down.

On crime against women, he said there is a proposal to set up fast track courts to try cases relating to atrocities against women. The state police is also planning to set up one AP Special Police battalion in every district, he added.

Dinesh Reddy said marine police stations have to be strengthened in view of the security cover for the east coast. “The coast had to be protected from subversive activities of the ISI,” he said.
