Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today emphasized the need for strengthening Ayush form of health services in the State. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen on extending Ayush health services at rural areas spending adequate funds, he said.
At a high-level review meeting with officials concerned at the Secretariat here, the minister directed the former to develop Ayush services as an alternative to Unani health services. The buildings for Ayush Hospitals should be built specially with attractive structures, he said. With Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s nod, the TRS government would launch Ayush Hospitals in Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts soon, he said and asked the officials to begin Ayush services from 20-bed hospital which is ready.
“Keeping changing perception of people, we should strengthen the Ayush form of health services. The government was also planning to provide similar facilities in other areas deprived of health facility”, the minister maintained. He also felt that more focus on scientific research on AIDS should be done to root out the problem. (NSS)
