New Delhi: Nearly 2,250 stray dogs were sterilised in north Delhi between April and August, North Delhi Municipal Corporation today said.
“As many as 2,249 stray dog were sterilised during April 1 and August 31 this year,” the NDMC said.
The matter was raised during the meeting of the Standing Committee of the civic body.
In the year 2014-15 and 2015-16, as many as 6,746 and 6,023 stray dogs were sterilised, it said.
During April-August this year, 1,778 stray cattle and 115 monkeys were also caught.
In the year 2014-15, as many as 4,265 stray cattle and 556 monkeys were caught and in 2015-16, as many as 3,427 stray cattle and 306 monkeys were caught, it said.
