NDA govt has failed on all fronts : Gogoi

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today lashed out at the NDA government at the Centre and criticised it for failing on all fronts.

“The Narendra Modi-led government at the centre has astonishingly deviated from its poll promises and has utterly failed on all fronts,” Gogoi said in a statement.

He said BJP’s poll plank of ‘Acche Din has “fallen flat” as the Centre has failed miserably in checking the prices of essential commodities.

“Assam has not been saved from the much hyped rhetoric of Modi, who has promised to deport illegal foreigners from the state and was shocked to see his retraction from the promise once the general election was over,” he said.

Poll promises like bringing back black money stashed abroad, crediting every account holder’s bank account with Rs 15 lakh each, creating employment avenues seem to have lost priority of the Centre, he said, adding that the humiliating defeat of BJP and its allies in Bihar is a testimony of the outcome of the the hollow promises.

“People of the country have realised the real character of the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government and so even after announcing a whopping Rs 1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar’s development, the party faced a drubbing in the State”, Gogoi asserted.

“People of Assam are politically conscious and always go by the judgement and not by rhetoric. Merely paying a lip service to the problems of the people won’t make any party popular,” Gogoi added.
