Mr E Srinivas Lakshmi Narasimhan, was today sworn-in as Andhra Pradesh Governor for a second term at the Raj Bhavan here.
Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Madan Bhim Rao Lokur administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Narasimhan at a brief ceremony.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Council Chairman A Chakrapani, opposition leader in the council Dadi Veerabhadara Rao, Cabinet Ministers and Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy were among those present on the occasion.
Mr Narasimhan, who completed the first term three months ago, has been given a five-year extension by President of India Pratibha Patil on April 28.
A former IPS officer of AP Cadre he retired as Director of Intelligence Bureau in 2006 and appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh in January 2007.
He held additional charge of AP from December 29, 2009 following the resignation of the then Governor N D Tiwari.
