Hyderabad, February 15: Telugu Desam president Nara Chandrababu Naidu questioned how former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had acquired thousands of crores rupees worth properties.
Participating in road shows and meetings in Pulivendula in Kadapa district on Monday as part of his two-day tour to the district, Mr Naidu questioned how Rajasekhar Reddy acquired massive wealth in a short time though he once asked the TD government to mortgage his house to avail a loan seven years ago.
He alleged that Rajasekhar Reddy had done nothing for Pulivendula constituency though he assumed several posts with public support and suppressed people in the constituency after he became chief minister.
Mr Chandrababu said that Rajasekhar Reddy asked the TD to mortgage his house in Hyderabad during the 2004 elections. He ridiculed former MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comments against the Congress government after his father Rajasekhar Reddy’s untimely demise.
Mr Naidu questioned Jagan how he owned a vernacular newspaper, cement and power companies.
The TD chief said he had launched awareness tours to enlighten people in Pulivendula how Jagan would loot the state if he became chief minister.
Mr Naidu alleged that Jagan was playing theatrics to defend his illegal properties and people were not in a position to trust the Congress in the state.
He said PR president K. Chiranjeevi, who had floated a party two-and-half years ago, had made his party disappear within a short span and betrayed his followers by merging the party in the Congress.
Rajya Sabha MP M.V. Mysoora Reddy, Pulivendula constituency in-charge Mr Satish Reddy, Telugu Yuvata state secretary B. Ramgopal Reddy, former MLAs Kandula Shivananda Reddy, Ramasubba Reddy, Vijayamma and legislator Mallela Linga Reddy also participated.
