Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday laid foundation stone for the works on beautification of Visakhapatnam Airport.
Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naid was also present on the occasion. About Rs. 3.22 crore would be spent on the beautification of the airport.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said that the Central Government would provide required financial assistance to AP Government for various development programmes. He said all the funds meant for the State would be released in full. He criticised YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for undertaking an indefinite hunger strike and said without even making any request, Jagan wants to wage a war with the Centre.
Later, Chandrababu Naidu and Venkaiah Naidu also laid the foundation stone for Film Nagar and Cultural Centre in Visakhapatnam. Addressing the gathering, Chandrababu Naidu reminded that NT Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao have worked very hard to develop the film industry in Hyderabad. He said now the film industry would get a boost in Vizag.
The Chief Minster announced allocation of 20 acres of land in Totlakonda for Cultural Centre which would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 100 crore. He said the construction would be completed within one year. He said that the Centre would provide training to artists in 24 major disciplines of cinema industry. (INN)
