Eatala dismisses Revanth Reddy’s allegations on fine rice

Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Eatala Rajender on Monday dismissed the allegations levelled by TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy of irregularities in supply of fine rice to hostels and residential schools.

Speking to media persons here, Eatala said it was wrong to do politics on students’ food. He asked Revanth Reddy whether he personally visited any of the hostels or residential schools or spent a night there. He said as per the directions of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, fine rice was being supplied to all the hostels on humanitarian grounds.

Eatala alleged that sub-standard rice used to be provided to students during the TDP regime. However, the TRS Government has ensured supply of fine rice to all hostels at a cost of Rs. 642 crore. He said that the TRS leaders have visited the hostels several times during the statehood agitation and it was decided then itself that fine rice would be supplied when party comes to power. (INN)
