Naidu exhorts officials to strive to achieve 15% growth rate this year

AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today appealed to the officials to achieve 15%  growth rate during 2017-18.

 

Expressing happiness over estimated achievement of 11.61% growth rate during 2016-17 in the State as against 7.11% in the country, the Chief Minister said the State achieved 14.03% growth rate in agriculture and allied sectors as against 4.37% national average. In the industrial sector, the State achieved 10.05% and in service sector 10.16% as against 5.77% and 7.87 % in the country.

Addressing a review meeting of secretaries and heads of departments at secretariat on Friday, the CM said the state achieved 30 per cent growth rate in aqua sector and directed the officials to set a target of 30 per cent growth rate in horticulture too. He said 62 lakh families are depending on dairy sector and there is a chance for further growth of the sector. He said 90 lakh Dwcra women should get economic independence.

The Chief Minister said a committee would be formed with secretaries to develop service sector. He stressed the need for administrative reforms and added that a ministers committee would be formed for this purpose. Stating that this year was declared as e-Pragati year, the Chief Minister said all departments should complete computerization. The biometric and Internet of things are giving good results. He asked the officials to make use of real time governance to come out of drinking water crisis.

Ministers, Chief secretary Ajay Kallam, DGP Sambasiva Rao, special chief secretary Satish Chandra were present in the meeting.(NSS)
