Naidu Alleges Corruption In Cw Games

Hyderabad, September 23: The Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has complained that there was large scale corruption in the organization of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, the TDP chief said that India has lost its honour in the comity of nations because of these irregularities. He said the government should have acted immediately after news broke about the irregularities.

Pointing out at the bridges and other structures under construction collapsing even before completion, the former chief minister said that this itself showed how much money was swindled and how quality was given a go bye. He also alleged that several top politicians were involved in the corruption.

Lamenting that one of the biggest scandals had occurred in the national capital itself, he has questioned why the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and the UPA Chairperson, Ms Sonia Gandhi, had not responded to the charges.

Stating that security arrangements were also not properly made, he said the media had mocked the security system, by carrying weapons into the play grounds in the high security areas. (NSS)
