Hyderabad: Stressing the need for voter enrolment, TRS working president KT Rama Rao today asserted that the party cadre should strive for winning 16 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls.
Addressing party workers at Kukatpally and Secunderabad, the TRS working president appealed them to see that the people enroll in the electoral list as lack of names and non availability led the TRS to lose some more votes in the recently held Assembly elections. Had all the eligible got voting chance, the TRS would have got better majority of votes, he felt. “Let us dictate terms at national level and not to beg by winning 16 MP seats. Take initiative to drive people and youth to enroll in the voter list and get more votes to the ruling party at the hustings”, KTR asked division level leaders.
KTR also said a special drive of voter enrolment has begun on December 26 to January 24 and the people are in favour of the ruling party. “We have already disbursed 12,000 voter enrolment forms in all segments and avoid missing or loss of votes as that will lead the TRS to lose the same. He also said TRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao is vouching for federal front to unite all the regional parties to form an alternative at the national level.
KTR said the BJP lost 103 seats in the Assembly polls in Telangana despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah, 11 Union ministers and some Chief Ministers campaigned, he said. The BJP may get 150 seats and the Congress may not get beyond 100 seats in the future Lok Sabha elections and the Federal Front is likely to win the polls. While the Odisha and Chattisgarh States were following the Rythu Bandhu scheme of Telangana, the Narendra Modi Government was also planning to make some changes and implement it across the nation, he claimed.
Stating that farmers’ problems will be in national agenda of Federal Front, KTR said Telangana will have to show direction to the country. “Let us win 16 MP seats to dictate terms to Delhi bigwigs at the Centre and address the issues. “I dedicate TRS victory to the activists and people for 47 per cent of votes, giving 75 per cent seats out of 119 in the recent polls.” He also promised to make efforts to keep all the assurances made.
