Mumbai: A person hurled shoe at Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President, Asaduddin Owaisi while he was addressing a public meeting held at the Nagpada Junction on Tuesday. However, in the incident, the MP remained unhurt.
According to the report published in DNA, party supporters tried to catch the person. However, he managed to escape. Police brought the situation under control and said that the person will be arrested after identifying with the help of CCTV.
Talking about the case, Mr. Virendra Mishra, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Zone 3 told that a black shoe was thrown at Asaduddin Owaisi. He also said that a case has been registered at Nagpada Police Station and police is searching for the accused.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Owaisi was addressing “Save Shariat” rally which was attended by Muslim intellectuals and clerics.
During the address, Mr. Owaisi spoke against Triple Talaq Bill and urged the Muslims to get united.
He also said that the justice in the name of Triple Talaq is a medium to target ‘Shariat’.
Targeting BJP and RSS, he said that they want India free from Muslim and Dalit.
He further said that if not 15 lakh, at least 15000 should be given to the Triple Talaq victims.
