Mumbai blasts: No breakthrough in probe yet

Mumbai, July 26: The investigating agencies have not been able to achieve any breakthrough in the serial blasts here on June 13 so far. -The Assembly is going to debate the issue on Tuesday. Any reply in this regard will not be appropriate at this time,- Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy said here on Monday when asked about the progress in the investigation.

The Mumbai Crime Branch and the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have been jointly investigating the blasts, which have now claimed 24 lives and injured more than 125 people. Central agencies such as like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have been assisting the probe.

The investigators have so far reconstructed the sequence of events at two of the three blast sites: Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House. -The blast was not captured on a CCTV in Dadar,- a senior official said.

-Screening the CCTV footages is a huge task. The footage is voluminous,- an officer said. They have also prepared the sketch of a suspect with the help of eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage.
