Mumbai, September 15: University of Mumbai today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the university of Western Australia (UWA), Perth for promoting academic cooperation and exchange of students and scholars.
The partnership between the two universities is to encourage joint research activities, exchange of staff and students, exchange of academic materials and other information, Registrar of the University of Mumbai, Venkat Ramani, said.
The MoU was signed between Doug McEachern, Deputy Vice-chancellor of UWA and Ramani.
McEachern, heading a 17-member delegation to India, said UWA has offered 50 ‘India Only’ scholarships for students in University of Mumbai, Osmania University, Indian Institute of Science and Anna University to pursue PhD in Australia, where the hospitality will be fully taken care by the institution. The fee will be only 50 per cent.
